Beta glared up, rolling her eyes before pull out the signed coin from her pocket. So this is how she was going to make decisions for the time being... Beta huffed, flicking her coin into the air, watching it flip, one, two, three, four, several more times, until it landed back in her paw. "Heads it is." She nodded. Something seemed to flip and she slipped the coin into her pocket, offering a slight smile. "Sure I'll tag along." She nodded, "Probably best since I don't know my way around here."

Driag tilts his head and watches curiously as he has never seen such a thing done before "Is... This a ritual of some sort?... Fascinating!!! You must tell me more as we walk! Are you a Seer? Or can you peer into my mind?" He says excitedly as he takes his weapon back into his right hand and begins to lead her out of the alley. "Also... There anything you need to get real bad? We can try to find it."

Beta stifled a laugh, "N-No no- Just a coin flip. Sometimes others use it to choose from one thing or another. Like- I just did." She explained, tone rather warm now. She followed the taller out of the alley, relaxing slightly. "And I think I'm alright for the time being. I have what's on me and that should be enough." She mused. "Or- For now at least." She tacked on after a heartbeat. After they were out in the open, she furrowed slightly. Seemed there were a few eyes on them. Maybe it was just her? The male, who'd introduced himself as Draig, said she did seem out of place. With a shake of her head, she looked up at the male. "Lead the way."

Draig tilts his head in confusion, wondering how such a small and simple thing can do something as complex as make a decision. "Your peoples must have been quite advanced!" His tail wags as the converse and leave the alley. "Hmmm... Alright if you insist. You may wanna consider building a shelter though if you can't buy one or steal one." Draig states in a nonchalant manner. Draig watches the eyes of the crowd and intentionally takes a step closer to Beta and stares down and bares his fangs to a few of the rougher looking characters that were paying them attention. "Employment, that would be something high on the priority list too, especially if we can get you into a BLue District. Thats where all the... Competent and good hearted people are. The rest of us out here are deemed not worthy due to lack of skills they find beneficial or they think us monsters. Sometimes they are right as you saw earlier today. A legal pass is what you want. They are rather pricey but... its worth the money. The illegal ones are cheap but don't always work. You don't want your pass to fail inspection. Sometimes they just turn you away, other times they mark you for barred for life or until you pay a steep fine or... I've seen them form firing squads and just gun people down for the crime."

Beta chuckled, "Sure, you could say that." The bionic mused at the comment about her family, even if it wasn't the most accurate in her opinion. As he continued to talk, she nodded in agreement, "I'll probably have to make one till I get enough money, as... Different It'll be... I should be able to manage." Beta huffed, "Probably." She added. Stiffening slightly as Draig stepped in front of her, Beta let her gaze follow his eyes towards a few others. She stared at them for a bit but was soon turning her attention back to Draig. "Oh- Yes... You're probably right." She chimed in agreement towards the idea of getting an occupation, but she couldn't help but frown when he began to explain what the 'Blue District' is. "Oh..." Was all she mumbled, looking away slightly. Maybe this Earth wasn't any better than her home?

"I'll help build the shelter should you desire. I can move concrete slabs for you. As far as employment goes... Hmmm... I dunno. What can ya do? Good with tools or magic? I am a mercenary but I don't get too many jobs. I've not been here for long is part of it, buuuttt... It doesn't help that I am impulsive and very... Foreign apparently. That paired with my size and appearance and well... You seem like a smart girl, you can connect the dots. The Blue District though, yeah that the goal for you young lady. Thriving commerce and good and happy people. Sure the guard is a bit strict but... Can you blame 'em? Look at this fucking mess." As he gestures, he includes himself in the statement.

The dame felt he eyes narrowing slightly, "Yeah... I'm alright with magic..." She huffed, looking towards a crack in the ground with a distant, thoughtful look. "But even then... I'm kinda... Trying to get away from the strict- government. Yeah-" She almost physically cringed at her words before looking up, just catching the male gesturing to himself. Beta couldn't help but frown, was this what her family had sheltered her from? She shook her head, "You seem fine from what I've gathered in this short time." Beta tilted her head slightly, offering a halfhearted smile.

"Magic eh? That's really promising Beta!" Draig says with genuine enthusiasm. "There's so many jobs you could get! Especially if you've any mechanical aptitude to pair with it! You could get a job in a workshop! Ahhh all the cool shit you can make! And.... I know they seem harsh but please don't count out the Blue District peoples and their government just yet... They are actually a caring lot. Well. This bunch is. I hear there are more of these but I haven't seen 'em so I can't comment on the topic." Draig catches the half hearted smile out of the corner of his eye and smirks. "I appreciate the kindness but like I mentioned before, you can kinda gather what I'm good at with one quick look. Sure I'm not the worst person out here but that doesn't change the fact killing is the only thing I remember how to do any more. That doesn't really sound like a productive member of society does it? I agree with their assessment despite it not being in my favor. I only hope one day I'll be able to learn something more worthwhile so I can have a real life." Draig's eyes widen and his ears droop in embarrassment and shock at the fact he opened up so much, not very characteristic of him to say the least.

"I suppose so." She shrugged. "I rarely ever used my magic... Or any of my talents really. Suppose you could say my family was rather... Expectant of me to do as they please." She shook her head, stopping herself from continuing on. "Anyhow, that's not the point." The dame looked up at Draig, "I won't count this 'Blue District' out, but I'd like to stay in this area just a bit more... Get" She paused," Familiar with it. I've only just got here." She mused lightly. "And-" Her eyes seemed to soften, "You seem like you really want to even out your life. I expect much from you then-" She snickered playfully.

Draig's face is heavily puzzled as Beta speaks of less then stellar things of her family, though a brief comment it was a foreign concept to him once more. Aren't families supposed to be kind towards each other? Despite this he politely nods and keeps his questions to himself. For now. Draig can't help but smile and laugh softly (and would blush if he could) at her comment. "Yes well I hope I won't disappoint you then, and thank you for still keeping the Blue Light District in mind as an option. As far as staying out here a while... I hate to say it but you technically don't have a choice. You're looking at an 8000 Credit fee for the Legal pass. I haven't held more than 500 Credits at any one time since I got here just over a month ago. Of course some one with some real constructive capacities, even if unpracticed as you mentioned, can do very well. I should probably mention why. The humans born here, the peoples who populate this place the most? They don't have magic. So without us new folks they'd be missing out on a lot of advanced things that can be made." Draig gestures to his weapon. "For instance. The native humans here could never make this because my people made it using a mix of magics and some tech that's roughly on par with what the humans here use. That bit of magic makes this faaaar surpass anything they can throw together. A total game changer." Draig gestures to the section they are approaching which contains a cornucopia of any sort imaginable. "You likely require food yes? I'd be happy to get you some. I can't stand watching people go hungry."

Beta simply trailed Draig, ears forward as she looked either forward or up at him. "Mm.." She heaved a small sigh, "Yeah that's a bit of a hefty cost... I suppose with enough saving I could probably get there." She shrugged. It was weird... Coming from a rather... Comfortable... family, the idea of saving seemed easy. But, she was expecting that her thoughts of the outside world were probably wrong. "And yeah, that makes sense." Beta nodded, "I expect that there are plenty of options for jobs with magic users then." Shrugging slightly, the dame followed his gaze to the area up ahead. "O-oh." She paused, furrowing slightly at the sudden offer. "I mean- Uh, sure- I guess?" She fumbled for words. This place was different... But maybe a lot of the people here were as friendly as the tall male. "I mean- you don't have to... Or." She tacked on. Kindness was a rare thing back home, well, other than Carson's.

Draig nods along and listens while Beta speaks of the future. "Yes you are absolutely right! It's hefty but I HAVE seen it done in my short time here so fret not. And you're right about that, not to mention you don't actually have to be skilled as long as you're powerful. They can kinda tap into your capacity as a energy source when enchanting items and the like. Though lets not forget the police and military aspects of magic. If you've got a good head on your shoulders and some good magic and aren't afraid of being in the line of duty they'd snatch you up quick! 'Course you gotta already be deemed as acceptable for the area but yeah..." The large man stops and looks down with concern as Beta falters and her brow furrows. "You gunna be ok? I know this isn't the cleanest of places but... I'll steer you right, I can smell who doesn't clean very well or uses old meat." He says not understanding her real reasons for her actions. Upon her finishing her last sentence he laughs and pats her on the back. "Oh I insist if you would partake! It'll be nice having some one around even if its just a short bit and hewlping some one is always nice. And... Some one helped me a little when I first got here too. First thing they did was give me food. So it seems fitting."

Beta huffed, "Well that's promising at least." She grinned, a hopeful glint sparking through her eyes. "Who knows, maybe I'd work well in a military position." She said thoughtfully before turning back to him. "Hm. I don't doubt that are others 'round here who aren't the cleanest." She shrugged, "But I suppose that comes with the area?" She didn't really know, simply guessing by the area around her. "Oh- Well thanks I suppose." She paused, flinching at the slight touch, "Passing on the kindness you got is a good character trait." She couldn't help but point out.

"Hmmm... Maybe so! I have to assume you've higher than human senses and potentially reflexes, maybe even durability. And yes, you're right, the area is about as pur as the peoples whom run it. Many of the shops are but a facade. a front for the real business. Some are more minor like information traders and pickpockets. Others... Well, lets just say I've already killed more than my fair share of slavers, no charge. Even hung their bodies where their friends would see since I'm so generous." Normally Draig would recoil in response to them flinching from him. But this time he knows she is just as much out of place as he is so he pulls his hand away and doesn't make a big deal of it; though he makes a mental note not to touch her again. Draig heads them back through the crowd and towards some of the cleaner food stands he knows of. Draig chuckles at her comment and gives her a curious look. "You know... You might be exactly what this place needs. Anyways... What kinda food ya like? They probably got it here in one of these stands, or at least something similar."

"Ah... So yes, as I expected." She nodded, listening further. She twitched slightly at the concept of killing, but it was nothing new. "Tsk-" She huffed with an amused expression, "Yes... How- generous." She chimed. Slowly, she took one step back, looking around the area. "I don't really have a preference of food." She finally spoke after a few seconds of silence closing it. "Surely you have a preference, yes?" She asked, looking up at Draig. "What do you recommend? I've not been in the area so I've no a clue." Beta cocked her head again, tail swaying slightly.
